The purpose of this course is to introduce the students to the basic fundamentals of art in which they can expand their visual arts knowledge and skills. We will focus on problem solving, using the elements of art and principals of design in order to create expressive, but well-organized works of art. We will focus on basic drawing skills as they relate to two-dimensional artwork vs. three-dimensional artwork in a multi-media capacity. Art history will be incorporated so that students will understand how art reflects, records and shapes history in many different cultures.
